How to listen properly to hear the sound of a machine

There are many thrilling stories about the magical sound of tubes.

In the main, they are just emotional words. To find out whether the sound of one device is better to another, a correct comparison must therefore be made: under the same conditions and at the same time.

Here control records are saved for comparison.

However!

No one really knows what you're hearing. Many vague components are located from the sound source to your sense. Next there is a short definition to agree that we can understand some terms equally well.

The sound quality for a person is determined by many factors:


First, how good the DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) is on your side, only then does it come to the analog way with the speaker system.


Second, an environment in which all of this happens has a significant effect. The best way to do the hearing test is to use high quality headphones.


One more thing
Intensity of sound (volume) also affects the spectrum of what we hear. Optimal: The volume is about 6 dB SPL (Sound Pressure Level) below the threshold if it do uncomfortable.

Another propert

Tiredness, distorted perception: That is adaptation or the dependence of the hearing on the sound of high intensity. This fatigue come after only two hours of such listening.

Our years change our hearing. We feel sound spectrum at the limits of their perceptual range worse, but the naturalness of sound becomes more important to us: a hard transistor sound makes our hearing tired rapid.
